Victorian Sterling Silver Bookchain Collar & Keepsake Locket Victorian Sterling Silver Bookchain Collar & Keepsake Locket – (circa 1870). Such a fine example of Victorian craftsmanship, unusual in its elaborate link design! Both chain and locket are hand engraved. The collar has foliate design engraved on each square link – surrounded by a frame of silver balls. An Art Deco Shell design completes each link on the outer edge and generous sized silver balls rest in each links centre – The oval locket opens to reveal a Memento Mori locket of hair on original linen, behind original glass, as well as a sepia photo portrait of a distinguished gentlemen, not behind glass.
